Abstract
This article undertakes to highlight the findings of the 1952 National Teacher Supply and Demand Study, the fifth in the annual series. The investigation is designed to clarify some of the most baffling problems confronting the American elementary and high school system today. Not only counselors and guidance workers, but teachers, administrators, school board members, state department officials, local and state professional groups, legislators, civic groups, parents, citizens—all persons interested in the immediate and long-range welfare of the nation—have a stake in these vital problems.
