This study reviews the literature relating to the role and function of administrators and supervisors in special education; reviews the literature concerning requirements for supervisory or administrative certification in special education; examines the major components of the supervisor/administrator role; and suggests expanded role and areas of research in administration and supervision of exceptional children.
