This study compared two "quick" IQ tests when administered to inner-city black kindergarten-aged children. The Slosson Intelligence Test (SIT) and the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) were administered to 74 subjects by 7 black and 14 white testers. Although a moderate relationship was found between the two instruments, significant differences were found between the IQ scores for the two instruments. While a mean SIT IQ score of 111.07 indicated "above-average" intelligence, the mean PPVT IQ score of 89.44 indicated "below-average" intelligence. Race of examiner had no effect on the test results. In addition, item analyses were performed on both tests.
