Abstract
Data are presented showing the impact of two experimental programs on the social climates of two institutions for male delinquents. As part of a research project in which behavior modification was introduced in one institution and transactional analysis in another, the Correctional In stitutions' Environment Scale was administered once early in the study and again more than two years later. Large differences in the perceptions of residents were obtained on posttests, with those in the transactional analysis program expressing more positive opinions about their relation ships with staff and the usefulness of the program.
