Abstract
Depicts marriage as a crucible in which authentic growth and faith may be enhanced provided the true meaning of “crucible” is recognized and appreciated. Notes the deep significance of a marriage's history and its potential as a therapeutic process. Sees marriage as a process of leaving, grieving, cleaving, and rejoicing which, if understood as part of God's created forces, can lead to a deepening faith.
