Abstract
A powerful set of forces may exist which compels new buyers of certain prodducts to act unwittingly as salesmen. These buyer-salesmen frequently promote their recent purchases to friends and associates. Their efforts may prove to be a powerful sales generator for the manufacturer. In this article, the author examines these dynamics as they operate in the case of people who buy uncommon makes of foreign cars.
