Abstract
Traditional ways of framing questions about the social and ethical responsibilities of marketing have on the whole been self-defeating. In fact, the discovery of workable answers to the question, “What are the social responsibilities of marketing?”, is quite unlikely.
Is there a better way to proceed? YES.
This article shows how marketing executives can develop some operational guides, even though not universal answers.
