Abstract
This article describes the major categories of the military market in the United States. Important changes in the composition of the military demand for goods and services are also indicated.
These developments include the emergence of the Air Force as the largest military customer; increased emphasis on the procurement of new weapons; and the replacement of conventional weapons by missiles, jet aircraft and, in the forseeable future, space vehicles.
