The Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests-Revised uses three formats for testing word comprehension, one of which is the analogies format. The adequacy of the revised instructions for the analogies portion of the Word Comprehension (WC) subtest was examined with a learning-disabled population. The effect of presenting 15 additional sample items prior to administration of the analogies items was examined using a Solomon Four-Group design. Analysis of covariance demonstrated significant increases in WC-analogies standard scores.
