The purpose of this study was to determine if the Weber district screening program predicted the reading scores of primary grade students. The data showed a statistical significance at the .001 level; however, the relationship was not strong enough to provide accurate identification of individual children at risk of educational failure. It was concluded that the screening program has very limited value in identifying children with learning problems.
