Abstract
The Visual Aural Digit Span Test (VADS), extended for use with older children, together with the Bender Test were shown to be valid diagnostic tools for pupils aged 12 to 14. A group of special class students with serious learning disabilities scored the equivalent of 9-year-olds on both tests and showed much impulsivity and disorganization on the test protocols. A group of resource room pupils with more moderate learning problems scored at a level of 10-year-olds on the VADS and Bender Tests; their test records were well organized. The test performances of the learning disabled and resource room youngsters correspond to their achievement level and differed significantly from the control group.
