Abstract
For some 15 years the ACLD has been instrumental in developing and sustaining funding for learning disabled youngsters. The impact of this organization, directed by parents with participation by professionals from various allied disciplines, has been truly enormous. The LD act of 1969 and its subsequent incorporation into ESEA legislation can be attributed heavily to the ACLD. One could even question whether the professional discipline of LD would exist today were it not for the parent effort that gave the term legal status. In this conversation, Alice Scogin talks about some of ACLD/s present programs and future direction. — G.M. Senf
