Abstract
The present study investigates the involvement of school personnel in the administration of medication for the hyperactive child. Questionnaires dealing with the initiation and monitoring of drug therapy were completed by 138 teachers and 9 nurses. The results showed that nurses were generally involved in the medication process while teachers knew very little about it. The teachers indicated that they should and wanted to have a larger role in the medication process. A discussion of implications for schools and areas in need of further study concludes the article.
