Abstract
The author describes how she became involved with learning disabled children, discusses her perception of the field today, states the major guidelines in her work with children and teachers, and reveals her wishes for the future. The importance of obtaining an optimal "match" between a child's cognitive and affective abilities and his or her educational program, of providing moral education, and of fostering care for and trust of others is emphasized.
