Questions have long been a basic tool in educational programs. There has, however, been little examination of the kinds of questions that are most productive, particularly for children with learning difficulties. This paper addresses itself to this problem by formulating a set of principles for question asking that are derived from an analysis of the child's natural mode of thinking.
