Abstract

Neurologically impaired children require consciously and thoughtfully tailored speech on the part of those conversing with them. Awareness of the need for "strippeddown" speech, consistent use of terms, allowance for time lag between reception and response, etc. can improve chances of success in communication between the child and those dealing with him.
