Abstract
Children labeled in school as hyperactive, language or learning disabled, lazy, minimally brain injured, or emotionally disturbed may in fact have a health problem. Symptoms may be manifestations of allergic conditions; allergies should be considered in children who are not succeeding in school or in interpersonal relations. Everyone associated with the responsibility of diagnosing school problems in children needs to be aware of the importance of investigating for allergic conditions and of taking positive action to alleviate them where present. Educational progress for many may hinge upon recognition of this phenomenon.
