Abstract
This study investigated intellective and academic performance of 111 children who had been classified on the basis of locus of EEG abnormality. Analyses of variance were computed among EEG classes for 15 Wechsler intellective variables and three Wide Range Achievement Test academic variables. Only one analysis produced significant differences, and subsequent analysis suggested that this difference was artifactual. It was concluded that on the basis of EEG classification of locus of abnormality, there may be little payoff in terms of predicting specific areas of intellectual or academic impairment in learning disabled children.
