Abstract
Traditionally, schools have viewed mental health services as ancillary appendages to the regular curriculum. But it is impossible to separate the learning of facts from the growth and development of the individual's personality. Based on the premise that classroom teachers could do much to improve the mental health, of their students, a program of direct consultation with the teacher was initiated. The scheme utilized medical-psychological consultants with intermediary teacher-consultants to help the teachers to be more effective in their work with problem children.
