Abstract
Children, who have experienced little success in reading using conventional classroom methods, are learning to read on a computer based, multi-sensory learning system known as the “Talking Typewriter.” Reading lessons, capitalizing on the experiences and interests of the children, are presented by a “trial and success” method, in an environment where the child, not the teacher, is the central actor.
