In at least one group of severely retarded readers, the most vital step in remediation is the institution of a full-time specialized instructional program. Although this study was not designed to measure the beneficial effects of individual and/or group psychotherapy, the results suggest that there is no difference between individual and group psychotherapy in their effects on the alleviation of severe reading disorder.
