Abstract
The diagnosis, remediation and social adjustment of children who suffer with a neurological impairment, to any degree, is not only a multi-disciplinary problem, but also necessitates community understanding and sensitive support.
There is no question that many communities still suffer from a “cultural lag” with regard to this much needed enlightment. It is equally true that we have come a long way from that point in history when a N.I. child was sentenced for life to the attic. At first glance it seems we have come a long way---but have we really?---C.C.E.
