Despite the importance of lifestyle change in the pursuit of health and happiness, there are few global formulations of how it is achieved. Vlrginia Satir, family therapy innovator, artist in becoming more fully human, and former president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, often spoke on the process and stages of change in her training workshops. This article discusses her formulation of the change process in the context of contemporary research and theory.
