Abstract
This article is in response to two articles in thisjournal, one by Laura Perls and the other by Ilene Serlin. It is a personal portrait dedicated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fritz Perls to the man and his work, by a former patient and long-time friend and colleague. It is also a description of the troubled relationship between Laura and Fritz, which seems to have polarized their respective followers. The author, who knew both Fritz and-Laura Perls very well, was deeply touched by Fritz and his work and believes that Laura and her followers have misrepresented and devalued his contributions.
