In this article I present a special example of the process of heuristic inquiry as I have experienced it in my several years of research on the Symbolic Growth Experience. I outline a chronology of the major discoveries and insights that have come as a result of following this phenomenological form of inquiry. Out of these discoveries and insights a final synthesis is achieved. The ultimate meaning of the Symbolic Growth Experience is revealed.
