“An Account of Georgia's Mandated English Testing Program” reveals reactions — pro and con — of Georgia teachers to the Regents' English Examination, a test mandated by the Board of Regents for all Georgia state-supported colleges as a requirement for graduation. The test has two parts, an objective section and a 45-minute essay. Testimonials reveal both strengths and weaknesses in the examination, which has made an impact on areas of instruction, staffing, and teaching techniques.
