Developments in the Preparation of Social Studies Teachers

Somewhat arbitrarily, but in the interests of clarity, we will follow these conventions throughout this paper: Social sciences will refer to five disciplines, namely: anthropology, economics, geography, political science, and sociology. Social studies will include the five social science disciplines plus history.
