Abstract
In this challenging article the author calls for a reconsideration of the aims and results of summer school instruction. Do teachers return to their tasks with fresh vigor of mind and body, or have they received but little of the expected benefit? In a subsequent article Mr. Baldwin will offer possible remedies.
