[Few who read these lines will need an introduction to Lorado Taft. Like John LaFarge, he is an artist who combines with creative faculties of a high order the rarest gifts as an interpreter of the work of other men. As a lecturer on his favorite subject he has perhaps charmed more audiences than any other American. It was his fame in this connection which led to the invitation to which he so modestly alludes.—Editor.]
