Abstract
The need for drug treatment programs to discard the single modality treatment approach has recently received considerable attention. Yet, while we recognize the need for multi-modality programs, there has been only minor consideration given the issue of how these programs should be structured. Unless the multi-modality concept includes something more than simply bringing together under a single administrative structure a sampling of existing treatment approaches, it is questionable whether this approach will significantly enhance existing treatment efforts. The program described in this paper has attempted to incorporate the multi-modality approach within the framework of compulsory treatment. Also, it has tried to organize the diverse services provided in such a manner as to create a unified service delivery system.
