Abstract
Two questions which arose again and again during the Hearings concerned the role of self-regulation and research.
Comments from various witnesses have been grouped together to enable the reader to compare the various view points on two major and persistent questions: “Is Self Regulation Possible?” and “Who Should Study the Impact of Drug Advertising?” No attempt has been made to edit these remarks into a dialogue. The witnesses stated their opinions to the Panel, not to one another, and they appear here in an order to facilitate comparison.
