An in vitio tensile fatigue test produced cyclic loading of joints made in a base metal casting alloy with a low-temperature precious metal solder, and the number of cycles to failure was recorded for a range of cyclic stresses. The majority of the joints survived stresses that should represent normal intra-oral loading.
