A g=1.980 signal due to trivalent chromium observed in electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra of bovine enamel, dentin, and bone, which were heated at temperatures above 900°C before observation, indicates strongly that chromium is associated with organic constituents of the calcified tissues. The concentrations of chromium in the tissues have been estimated with the ESR technique.
