A three-yr caries study was conducted to evaluate an SnF2 prophylactic paste and topical solution professionally applied to children on a semi-annual basis. The topical solution imparted a significant decrease in caries incidence while the prophylactic paste was without significant effect. The combination of treatments was not significantly more effective than the topical application alone.
