Relaxation patterns for two orthodontic polyurethane-based elastics have been
quantified in dry air and water bath environments and in vivo.
Water bath simulation of in vivo behavior is apparently
valid for up to a week following initial activation, but it becomes somewhat
erroneous thereafter.
