An investigation of possible variables dictating "No Show" batient behavior relative to scheduled dental appointments was undertaken. Source of payment for services and race demonstrated statistical associations with "No Show" behavior. Race was confounded with the former variable. Two third-party payment groups demonstrated different fail-cancel behavior when compared.
