Quantitative stereological measurements of porous alumina dental implant materials included intercepts in length, points occupied, number in area, mean lineal intercept, volume fraction, and surface area in volume. A pore-solid network analysis from 81 serial sections showed variable pore dimensions and geometry and a completely interconnected major pore network.
