Fluoride concentrations in deciduous enamel of children who chewed or did not chew sodium fluoride tablets over a three year period were determined. Anterior and posterior enamel from children who used tablets contained 150 and 80 ppm more fluoride, respectively, at a depth of 5 μm than did enamel from the control group. The difference between tablet users and nonusers remained relatively constant during the study period.
