Bacterial effectiveness of five different disinfectants was tested when microorganisms were absorbed to both porous and nonporous surfaces in the presence and absence of protein. These chemosterilizers were most active against microorganisms used to coat nonporous surfaces in the absence of protein. Organisms survived optimally when porous surfaces were precoated with protein.
