Factors that alter concentrations of airborne microorganisms were studied by aerosolizing Bacillus subtilis spores into a dustfree and bacteriafree room. Air sampling showed that the fallout rate of 32%/hour for spores alone increased 2-fold with the addition of calcium phosphate powder and 1.6-fold with hairspray solids.
