Nasal airflow measures, articulation test scores, breath-pressure ratios, and listener judgments were obtained for 30 prosthetically managed cleft-palate speakers and noncleft controls. Results indicate nasal airflow measures will not provide accurate prediction of velopharyngeal function, although they permit some gross differentiation.
