A procedure involving the use of a tritiumlabeled acrylic strip was developed for the rapid, accurate, and reproducible evaluation of the abrasiveness of dentifrices. Comparisons were made of dentifrices widely sold in the United Kingdom (including some marketed specifically for denture cleaning) and a standard paste.
