This paper extends the formulations for a class of three isotropic triangular plane stress and plane strain finite elements to include the effect of symmetrically laminated aniso tropic materials. The formulation is tailored and pertinent numerical algorithms are adopted so that this development is efficiently implemented in a microcomputer. The matrix equations are solved using an iterative scheme while minimizing the amount of memory storage required.
