Abstract
A simplified method, proposed by the authors for determining the interlaminar stresses in laminated strips, is extended to compute the interlaminar stresses around a circular hole in [0/90]s laminates. Two loading cases are included: remote tension and uniform shear. The effect of the ratio of hole radius to laminate thickness is investigated. Results obtained from this method are in good agreement with those reported in the literature for the case under uniform tensile load which is the only case previously analyzed. The amount of work required is much less than any of the other approaches and yet the results are extremely useful for engineering design purposes.
