The surface thermal strains of two quasi-isotropic graphite fiber-epoxy resin laminates were measured with the strain gage technique. The resulting data was direc tionally dependent; the related surface anisotropy varied inversely with the sample dimensions and varied directly with the single lamina anisotropy ratio.
