Abstract
The process for producing tape from noncontinuous boron fibers is explained. Composite mechanical properties of both uni directional and bidirectional noncontinuous boron composites are given. Comparisons of the properties with continuous boron com posites show utilization factors of 80 percent for modulus, and 40 percent for strength. Process parameters that may effect com posite properties are also investigated.
