Abstract
In the printing of G. M. Balding's article, “Teaching Biology: The Theory of Evolution” (Vol. IV, No.2) an error was introduced. The author writes:
“In some cases my ‘Form IV’ has been printed as ‘sixth form’. This considerably alters my meaning.
I would be the last person to suggest that General Science should be taught up to the sixth form level and Physics, Chemistry and Biology should not be. My view is that General Science should be taught up to (and including) the fourth form level.
In forms I, II, III and IV General Science should be taught. In forms V and VI Physics, Chemistry and Biology should be taught. My whole article was specifically concerned with the approach to the Theory of Evolution where it is first discussed in detail, i.e. in the fourth form.”
