Rather than operate a large pump at very low rpm it is preferred to use a smaller pump within its recommended rpm range to deliver small quantities of color.

There are two ways to improve economics from shade adjustments: (1) by use of considering alternative combinations from a color matching computer (see References [1] and [2]) by slightly reducing the more costly primary colors to still obtain an acceptable shade match.
