Abstract
The incorporation of certain low cost wood resins as extenders in urethane foam systems is discussed. Significant cost reductions can be realized from these systems while still maintaining those physical properties which make urethane foams unique as a low-tem perature thermal insulation.
Formulation studies, processing details, and foam properties are discussed along with the present and potential value of such sys tems in expanding and stabilizing the mar kets for rigid urethane foams.
