Abstract
Behind every teaching method there lies a philosophy of education and even a philosophical model of existence. If we examine the most prevalent philosophies and how they influence the teaching of business communications, we will see that a mix of philosophies is currently behind communications pedagogy but that scientific realism - behavior ism is predominant and gradually becoming the sole underpinning for teaching communications. This development should go no further if we are to maintain the admirable interdisciplinary and eclectic nature of Business Communications Pedagogy.
